Dr. Mighton’s work fostering numeracy and children’s self-confidence and abilities in math is widely recognized.

He has been named a Schwab Foundation Social Entrepreneur of the Year, an Ernst & Young Social Entrepreneur of the Year for Canada, an Ashoka Fellow, and an Officer of the Order of Canada for his achievements. A Fellow of the Fields Institute for Research in Mathematical Sciences, John has also taught mathematics at U of T. However, his success in math did not come easily.
